Well, well, well… another organic market looks set to tantalise local Capetonian tastebuds – this time the venue of choice being the Tafelberg Tavern on Hope St in Gardens.

According to organisers, the new weekly market, dubbed the Gardens Organic Saturday Market, will make its debut on Saturday the 29th of November and will cater for over 40 traders.

Here’s the skinny:

Cape Town goes green this summer with the launch of the organic, holistic Gardens Market! Situated in the heart of the leafy city bowl, the Gardens Market showcases all the newest environmental innovations, eco-friendly trinkets and toys, and the most delectable edible treats from established culinary experts and professional traders.

Drawing on the burgeoning Saturday morning lifestyle market scene, the Gardens Market is hosted within walking distance from most points in the city bowl, and runs for longer in the day than other existing weekend trading posts.

While the outdoor market will take place in a shady, converted open area, an indoor bar with a big screen TV will draw the sport-loving guys. Meanwhile, you get to shop around for anything from bees-wax to Burgundy

So exciting to see so many local markets – which is why I’m making a list.  Now it’s up to us to support them!   I’ll certainly be there to check this one out.

The Gardens Organic Saturday Market will kick off on Saturday the 29th of November. Dates for 2008: 29th November, 6, 13, 20 December (9am – 3pm) For more information, visit www.gardensmarket.co.za or email info@gardensmarket.co.za. Or call 021 424 0408.
